ROSE HALL TOWN, BERBICE – The Rose Hall Youth and Sports Club successfully pulled off their second annual Mash Parade last week.Mash celebration in Rose Hall.This year the event saw nine schools in the Lower Corentyne area participating.Some 500 students from the J.C. Chandisingh,Cristian Pavon Jersey, Port Mourant and Lower Corentyne Secondary Schools; the Corentyne Comprehensive High School; Rose Hall Town, Port Mourant and the Belvedere Primary Schools; along with the Rose Hall Town and Ankerville Nursery Schools, in addition to the members of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club, all came together to mash it up their way.The parade moved off from the Port Mourant Primary School and made its way to Hampshire, then back to the Area ‘H’ Ground at Rose Hall Town where it ended.The event was followed by an open-air concert. Chief Executive Officer of the Rose Hall Youth and Sports Hilbert Foster said that the aim of the parade was to emphasise the need for young people to be educated and live a drug-free life.“We achieved our goal – the message was delivered to thousands of youths between the ages of ten to 18 years old, and we know we succeeded.
