Regional Education Officer of Region 6,NFL Jerseys China, Mrs Shafiran Bhajan, has responded to a recent article which outlined some hiccups in the 2011 Remedial Programme in Region 6. The article, published last Saturday in this newspaper,Cheap Nike NFL Jerseys, stated that the curriculum materials had been delivered late to the school and also that some teachers were concerned about participating again in the programme because they were paid in December. Also,Cheap Jerseys, some schools did not receive snacks on the first day of the programme,NFL Jerseys Cheap, which was Monday. The Remedial Programme runs from July 11- August 26, and targets low achievers in Maths and English. It runs in both primary and secondary schools nationwide.Mrs Bhajan stated that save for one school; all schools received the curriculum materials on Monday, the day of the programme’s comencement. She added that the schools were supposed to reuse last year’s materials, but could have requested new ones if the old ones were lost or damaged. She noted that the Department of Education in New Amsterdam is currently short of officers to oversee the implementation of the Remedial Programme, she is working along with those present to see that happens.Literacy Coordinator of Region 6,Cheap MLB Jerseys Authentic, Enid Etwaroo, has been working assiduously to get the Topco Juice and School-feeding biscuits to the various institutions. She noted that 500 boxes of juice will be uplifted shortly from Georgetown.“It’s not like these people don’t care. They are on top of the ball,Soccer Jerseys China,”Etwaroo said. She acknowledged a breakdown of communication with the schools and the education officials in Region 6 on Monday which resulted in only some schools receiving the snacks for the Remedial Programme.“What they should have done was to communicate with the headteachers at the school.”She agreed that at least by 11am on the first day of the programme, the children should have collected their juice and biscuits. Bhajan stated that there was some poor communication which could have resulted in the minor hiccups with snacks and the curriculum materials. ???When asked if teachers participating in the programme this year would be paid several months after, Mrs Bhajan said that “people learn from their mistakes” and it “was a very embarrassing thing in the Ministry [of Education]”. “The Ministry is taking all precautions to ensure that there is no repetition of financial difficulties… in that teachers were paid late,”she reflected. But Mrs Bhajan sees a smooth flow of the programme this year.“My education officers (Secondary) would have asked all headteachers to be there (in schools) to ensure that last year’s Curriculum Guides are used and they should uplift them from the Office (Department of Education) if they don’t have.” (Leon Suseran)
