President promises to reestablish the Amerindian language courses at UGAmerindian Heritage Month was launched yesterday at the Sophia Exhibition Centre’s very own Amerindian Village, with President David Granger addressing a huge gathering under the benab. That is the law and it is my obligation to fulfill this (as part of) the constitution,” Granger said.Granger noted that during the elections campaign he paid visits to various Amerindian Communities. During these visits, he observed that the older villagers still spoke their original Amerindian languages.“Many people in those villages do not speak English as their first language, but they can communicate best in their indigenous languages.
