The trial of a 27-year-old carpenter accused of killing another man at a wedding house started yesterday before Justice Winston Patterson,Alex Formenton Jersey, but the opening proceedings came to an abrupt end when the main witness told the court that he is fed up of lying.On trial for the murder is Lokenauth Dyal, of Canal Number Two, West Coast Demerara.The indictment accuses Dyal of killing 36-year-old Farzan Khan, on February 2,2018 Nike Vapor Max Plus, 2008, at Clay Brick Road, Canal Number Two, West Coast Demerara.Yesterday as the matter started the main witness, Odatt Rafeek,Edmonton Oilers Gear, under cross examination crumbled in the witness box, as Attorney at law, Vic Puran, started questioning him.Puran, who is sometimes accused of being “too overwhelming” by witnesses, began his cross examination by asking Rafeek if he was comfortable. “Are you comfortable?…Do you want to sit?” asked Puran.The man answered the first question in the affirmative and the second in the negative. The lawyer then brought him back to the day of the incident.Throughout the entire process the witness kept shifting from side to side, appearing to be unsettled.Halfway through the process, Rafeek blurted out to the court that he was finding it difficult to lie. “Meh cyaan do it…..I cyaan lie no more. Ah fed up lying!” he exclaimed.
