Former Chairman of the Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo) and the Guyana and Trinidad Mutual Fire and Life Insurance Company (GTM), Harold Davis, died “peacefully” in his sleep early yesterday morning at his city home.Davis, 88, had not been well after suffering a stroke, his wife, Mayleen said yesterday. He also served as Chairman of the Sugar Association of the Caribbean (SAC) from 1980 to 1990, as well as the Chairman of the Consultative Association of Guyana Industries Limited (CAGI).He was a member of the Council of the University of Guyana (UG), and in 1991 he became Pro- Chancellor and a member of the Board of Governors, serving for 13 years.
