Six overseas Outreach Medical teams are currently in Guyana. One visited Mon Repos yesterday.The teams will be operating in Guyana for the next four days to extend primary health care to the various parts of Guyana.The six teams are divided into two main bases of operation,Josh Manson, one of which is Georgetown.The Mon Repos team consisted of overseas emergency room physicians,Wholesale Jerseys US, emergency medical technicians (E.M.T), registered nurses (R.N),NFL Jerseys Discount, Pediatricians and interns, who all volunteered to do work in Guyana.They care for patients and they treat people with common cold,Wholesale NFL Jerseys China, arthritis,Bill Lee Jersey, pneumonia, asthma, hypertension, diabetes and other primary ailments.Among the team of volunteers was Dr. Errol Lewis, an overseas-based Guyanese who received his medical training in Linden.Also among the team was medical practitioner Dr. Harrison Mitchell, who told Kaieteur News that he was surprised by the massive turn-out of people and looks forward to the other ventures for the next four days.Some patients were referred to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC), since the visiting team members did not posses the necessary medication or expertise to treat some of the cases.All of the drugs they used to treat the residents of Mon Repos were donated by some of the health facilities in New York (U.S.A).The team began working from early yesterday and concluded the programme whenever the crowd of patients eased. They were prepared to see over 100 patients.Some of the residents lamented that they have to travel long distances to get to the hospital or close to a health centre.Residents want the Government to implement a health facility in Mon Repos in case of emergency.The team is expected to be in ‘D’ Field,Wholesale NFL Jerseys China, Sophia today to give health care to mostly the children in that area.
