One of the men who kidnapped Andre Barnes, a Caricom official’s son, in early 2010, was on Thursday sentenced to four years’ imprisonment after he was found guilty of abduction for ransom.Twenty-five -year -old Ronaldo Marques faced Magistrate Sueanna Lovell who handed down the sentence following a one-year long trial that saw several witnesses including the virtual complainant.The prosecution proved its case against Marques who they said was found guilty since all doubts of the man’s guilt was clarified with sufficient evidence produced by the police.Marques was asked to lead the defence in November but had failed to convince the court of his innocence since the complainant had identified him as one of the perpetrators in the abduction.
