– City MayorAs heavy rains continue in and around Guyana,Jerseys NFL Cheap, Mayor of Georgetown, Hamilton Greene, has given all assurance that all the kokers around the city are up and running.In an invited comment yesterday Mayor Greene said that workers from the city council have been working around the clock at the nine kokers and pumps that fall under the purview of the council.The Mayor noted that the situation is clearly as a result of the rain and his workers are all on standby at the kokers to release excess water when the tide is low.The kokers that are currently being monitored by the city council include the Kingston koker, Cummings Canal,Wholesale Jerseys From China, Lamaha Street koker,Jerseys NFL Wholesale, Church Street (Muneshwar) koker, John Fernandes koker,Wholesale Authentic Jerseys, Sussex Street koker,Cheap Jerseys Store, the Ruimveldt double door koker, the River view koker,China Jerseys Authentic, the Houston koker and the Princes Street koker.According to the Mayor in some areas while the rain is responsible for the flooding the situation is compounded by garbage build which has been a continuous problem.In addition, the Mayor noted that if the rain continues then the pumps at Liliendaal and Kitty will have to be running continuously so as to ease the water level in certain areas.However the Mayor said this once again brings to the fore front for back-up power to these pumps. This, he said, is an issue the council has been trying to sort out for the longest while but to date has not received a response from the Government.The council has been seeking the assistance from the Government to have a generator set place at the two pumps in the event of a power outage.Over the past 24 hours Georgetown and other parts of Guyana have been experiencing heavy and persistent rainfall resulting in flooding. According to reports this weather pattern is expected to continue over the next few days.
