Since it began on May 11 last, the Facts 1 Fashion, Art, Creativity by Talented Students Project has received rave reviews. The other part of the project dubbed the ‘Facts 2 TV Reality Show’ on HJTV (STVS Channel 72) is creating quite a stir as seven talented student designers vie for lucrative cash prizes and the title of the 2K8 Carifesta Student Designer. The grand finale will be held this evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall,Cheap Jerseys China, Homestretch Avenue, and will include a red carpet runway presentation in which patrons will see the past pieces of every designer,China NFL Jerseys, as well as four new creations. The new Cole Facts Teen Line dubbed ‘Sapphires’ will also be highlighted.Added entertainment will be provided by local artistes,Cheap NFL Jerseys, Gialiani, Fojo, Timeka Marshall, Celeste David,Soccer Jerseys China, among others.Entry for adults will cost $1000, while children under twelve will be admitted for $500.The action begins at 19:00 hrs.? Those contesting for the title are David Clarke of St. Rose’s High School; Odessa Grovan of St. John’s College; and 12-year-old Afiya Bobb of Central High; Keisha Harry of Brickdam Secondary; Crystal Patterson of St. Joseph High; Sharda Elegon of? the Bishops’ High; Jenelle Cox,Jerseys From China, formerly of Saint Stanislaus College and Ashley Cameron of the Bishops’ High.Hosts Michelle and Trevor Rose explained that the objectives behind the show are to provide students with a positive forum to express themselves, but more importantly to ‘discover their hidden designing talent’.Michelle indicated that from the inception herself and colleague, Natasha Martindale,Wholesale Jerseys Free Shipping, felt that the show would be the ideal way to give back to the youths in society who have applauded and supported the ‘Facts and Roses’ ventures over the years.Prior to today’s proceedings, the young designers completed four separate categories.Redesigning School Uniforms…In this segment the participants were required to redesign their school uniform to a pattern they considered most appropriate for school purposes.Odessa Grogan’s creation took top spot in that category earning her $20,000 for her efforts. No sewing machines, no thread…In the second phase, the designers were given five yards of cotton and a bunch of tibisiri straw to put together an outfit in five hours. The astonishing fact was that the contestants could not use sewing machines or thread. It was Keisha Harry’s tantalizing piece called ‘Scandalous’ that took home the honours.? The young lady’s creativity earned her $25,000.Odds & Ends indeed…The fitness of the designers was also put to the test during this segment. They were all taken to the Burnham Playfield and made to race to a tent to select ‘odd pieces of fabrics’ secured there for their ‘speedy selection’.The piece of fabric each designer grabbed during the race was the one they used to make an outfit from.Bashful twelve-year-old Afiya Bobb emerged the winner. She took home a sizeable $30 000 for her efforts.Carifesta Costume Segment…Hosted two Sundays ago at the Umana Yana, this was a rich kaleidoscope of glitter and colour that in most cases reflected the true spirit of Carifesta. Each designer made good use of local materials as they each strived to produce a costume that reflected the Carifesta theme. Crystal Patterson’s dazzling ‘Unity through Music’ was adjudged the best and a? $40,000 cash prize was hers.
