Though, a price was not negotiated as yet, the income generated will be given back to the schools and communities in the execution of environmental projects, King stated.ECHO is anticipating that other partners will come on board and support this six-month pilot project that is being rolled out in 40 schools in Georgetown. After the pilot period is over, the project will be evaluated and modifications will be made where necessary and rolled out in Regions Three and Ten. In addition, schools will be given prizes for full participation.According to Netram, the company has a small recycling plant in operations and recently it purchased a large recycling plant. The plastic bottles purchased from ECHO will boost the amount of bottles that are processed into Pet Flakes.He noted that this programme undertaken by ECHO will help reduce the number of plastic bottles that end-up in canals clogging the drainage system.
