Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Trade Ministers expressed satisfaction with the activities the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) Implementation Unit of the CARICOM Secretariat has undertaken in recent months and its plans for the short term.The Ministers met at Pegasus from 19-20 May at the Thirty-Second Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED).Note was taken of member states’ efforts to meet obligations which fall to them and the convening of the First Meeting of the Trade and Development Committee under the EPA on 9 and 10 June 2011 was also considered.The Adviser to the Secretary-General on the Implementation of the EPA and Head of the EPA Implementation Unit of the CARICOM Secretariat,Cheap Jerseys, Mr Branford Isaacs stated that he was satisfied with the treatment of EPA implementation matters during both the Senior Officials and Ministerial meetings held this week. He underscored “the deliberations proved useful in fine-tuning regional perspectives on issues to be brought to the table at the upcoming Trade and Development Committee.”The fifteen signatory Caribbean Forum of African,Jerseys Wholesale, Caribbean and Pacific (CARIFORUM) States to the EPA are the independent CARICOM Member States and the Dominican Republic.
