NEW YORK (AP) — Former NFL wide receiver James Thrash has been hired jointly by the NFL and the players' union as an appeals officer for on-field player discipline,Jerseys NFL China.

The announcement of the hiring of Thrash, who played with the Redskins and Eagles from 1997-2008, was made Monday by the league and the NFLPA. He joins Hall of Fame linebacker Derrick Brooks to handle such appeals.
