She?? subsequently called on the men to lead their defence.In leading his defence, Tyndall, opted to give an unsworn statement. He stood in the prisoners’ dock and related to the court that he was at lot 55 William Street, Campbellville on December 27, 2007.?? Tyndall told the court that, he was asleep in the house, when Hope met him there and told him that he needed to hide because his aunt doesn’t want anyone in the house and that she would quarrel if she saw him there.The accused said that his friend hid him under a bed and then in a wardrobe. He said that while inside the closet, for a few minutes, he heard a loud noise.? He said that he came out of his hiding place and peeped in another bedroom.There, he said that he saw the accused, (Hope) standing over his injured aunt with a piece of stick in his hand. Tyndall claimed after witnessing what his friend did to his aunt, he quickly left the premises. He said that he has no knowledge of what transpired afterwards.Hope, on the other hand, decided to give the court a sworn statement. The accused had initially opted to give an unsworn testimony but after consulting with his Attorney, he stood in the witness box to tell his story.The lawyer, Melvin Duke, said that the accused has a witness to call in his defence. As he related his story, Hope spoke slowly and quietly; his voice almost inaudible at times.Hope recounted that on the night of December 27, 2007 he saw his aunt Colleen and her granddaughter, Nikita Semple, at lot 55 Campbellville.The accused in answer to questions by his Attorney said that he was staying at the premises after he “came in the country.”? He said that he opted to stay there after his grandmother told him that her house didn’t have space.The accused said that while staying there, his aunt and her friend “Elder Smith” would visit the premises sometimes.Hope said that on the night of December 27,Jae Crowder Jersey, 2007 his aunt and Elder Smith had been in an argument.
