Police are on the hunt for three bandits who shot a city resident after relieving him of the gold jewellery he was wearing during a brazen robbery at the Tucville Squatting Area around 22:30 hours on Sunday night.Mark Hunte is nursing a gunshot wound in his abdomen after the bullet fired by one of the bandits passed through his body and left an indentation in the wall of the little shop in front of which he was sitting.He is currently a patient at a city hospital and his condition is listed as stable.From all indications, Hunte’s jewellery attracted the bandits so they pounced on him, leaving the other people alone.Errol Wilson, who lives at the address where the incident occurred,Wholesale NFL Store, recalled that his wife, Hunte and some other persons were sitting outside a little shop in front of his house when the bandits, one of whom was armed with a gun, confronted them.“I see this boy in this green jersey come and snatch Mark like if he playing with he. Kaieteur News understands that the wounded man claimed that he can identify his attackers if he should ever see them.Police responded to the incident and arrested two men after discharging a few rounds into the air.However, one of the eyewitnesses to the robbery indicated that the men who were detained were not involved.Investigations are continuing.
