The court, yesterday, heard how the missing AK47 assault rifle that was found with Cyon Collier called ‘Picture Boy’, was one of the weapons that went missing from the Guyana Defence Force in 2006.This disclosure was made by Assistant Superintendent Michael Kingston, when he was further crossed examined yesterday before Justice Winston Patterson and a mixed Demerara Assizes jury.Collier is charged with the September 30, 2006 murder of 34-year-old businessman, Chandrapaul Persaud,Wholesale Jerseys, called ‘Kero Man’ of Non Pareil, East Coast Demerara.Prosecutor Judith Gildharie-Mursalin is representing the state, while Attorney-at-Law, Lyndon Amsterdam, in association with Keisha Chase and Yollanda Lamott, is for the defendant.Cyon Collier called ‘Picture Boy’Kingston was cross examined for the entire day yesterday in relation to him raiding a property at Bachelor’s Adventure, East Coast Demerara,Wholesale Cheap Jerseys, on the morning of October 5, 2006,Cheap Jerseys, with a Joint Services team where they found Collier, along with the AK 47 Assault Rifle, with a magazine containing 13 7.62 x 39 rounds,Wholesale Nike NFL Jerseys, an Astra Pistol with two matching rounds and a 12 gauge Mossburg Pump Action Shotgun. Collier was arrested and charged with the present offence. The witness was questioned about whether he had made enquiries from the army as to whether Collier was ever a member of that entity since Kingston had mentioned under evidence-in-chief that Collier was not.To the question, the witness said that one of his superior ranks had made contact with the GDF, in his presence, via telephone. Certain information was supplied to the Army personnel by the senior rank, and after about an hour, the Army personnel called back with the requisite information. Kingston said he then learnt that Collier was never a member of the army. The witness was then asked if he was aware that in October 2006, the GDF lost a number of AK 47 weapons. The witness admitted that he was so aware. Then he was asked if he had conducted any investigations to determine whether this weapon, which was tendered by the State as an exhibit in the trial, belonged to the army. Kingston responded, “Yes. I did. This is the Army’s firearm.”Kingston was then cross-examined at length as to whether he had caused any investigations to be conducted in relation to the man who claimed he owned the property where Collier was found. He said that he was aware that a senior rank caused such an investigation to be done.According to Kingston’s earlier testimony, following this raid, a man had showed up at the Cove and John Police Station claiming that he had secured his house and had gone to work in the interior. He subsequently learnt, via the newspapers, that police had arrested bandits with weapons in his house.Under further cross-examination yesterday, Kingston said that when he entered that house where he found Collier, he asked him certain questions before Collier took him to the bedroom where the weapons and ammunition were found. When asked whether he had testified about this in the Magistrate’s Court or in this High Court trial, he said no. Asked by Counsel to reveal what he had questioned the accused about, Kingston’s response was, “Counsel, you are pushing me to say certain things here but I cannot because if I do, it would be highly prejudicial.”He explained that those questions pertained to another matter and not to this present case. The cross examination went on after lunch for about three and half hours. The matter was adjourned to today when the State is expected to call Sergeant Eon Jackson to testify.Last week Kingston in evidence in chief said that it was on October 5, 2006, he received information that Collier along with wanted man Anthony ‘Kussum’ Charles was at a house in Bachelor’s Adventure, East Coast Demerara.Kingston told the court that a party of about a dozen policemen along with about 15 ranks from the Guyana Defence Force went to the residence at Bachelor’s Adventure around 05:00hrs.It was stated that when the lawmen entered the home, only Collier was there.
