– Irfaan AliFuture land allocation or transfer from the Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo) to the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) will definitely require payment in the future, according to Minister of Housing and Water, Irfaan Ali.Ali, at his recent end of year press conference on Monday, said that given the situation at the sugar company this mode of practice is to be incorporated.However, he noted that none of the housing development projects engaged during this past year did not involve the use of GuySuCo lands. He disclosed that those lands were either owned by or transferred to the CH&PA.“In terms of Tuschen and Zeelugt (on the West Coast of Demerara) though they were transferred to the CH&PA they were never in cane cultivation.
