Recognising the need to improve the teaching of Science and Mathematics in the education system, the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Caribbean Academy of Sciences sponsored a science and mathematics workshop over two days. The workshop ended yesterday.This workshop was geared at improving the teaching of mathematics and science in the school system.It is to this end that secondary school teachers were engaged in a very interactive two-day workshop that drew participants from across the Caribbean region.Giving an overview of the workshop at its opening at the Umana Yana,China NFL Jerseys, Wednesday evening,Discount NFL Jerseys, Dr Julianna Alexander, co-ordinator of the Caribbean Association of Science (CAC), said that it is tailored towards science and mathematics being taught through design activities, allowing students to think with their hands, eyes and ears.The University of the West Indies lecturer challenged the participants to feed upon the skills and knowledge of each other to bring about better science and mathematics results.She said it is no secret that these two areas are a sore point in the education system that needs addressing.
