The Guyana Public Service Union (GPSU) has stated, via release, its displeasure that attempts are being made to “impose the polygraphing system on workers in the public service including those employed in the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) and the Guyana Police Force.”The Union has instructed its members not to take the lie detector test.According to GPSU President,Ben Chiarot Jersey, Patrick Yarde,Cheap Air Jordan Shoes, the union has already made it clear that the use of the polygraph test, to determine innocence or guilt, of persons who are employed in the public service, is not acceptable or authorized under the Laws of Guyana.The union has objected to the recent request by the Commissioner-General of the GRA, Khurshid Sattaur that certain officers need to take the polygraph test.In its release, Yarde expressed the union’s concern over the Commissioner of Police, Henry Greene’s statements, which said that the move by the Administration to introduce polygraph testing in the Police Force is welcome,Cheap Colorado Avalanche Jerseys, since he thinks it to be a sensible move.Greene had previously said that in almost every Caribbean country polygraph testing is required before being employed, and now that it is being implemented in the force he has no problem with it.The GPSU release made it clear that while Greene said he had no problem with the testing,Nike Air Force One Shoes For Sale, he did not say what the legal basis, under the Laws of Guyana, was for the testing of these persons.
