The foreign missionaries and international volunteers working in Paramakatoi have constantly lamented the poor state of the postal service in Region Eight. Speaking with one of these missionaries,Nike Vapor Max Plus Triple Black, who has been in Paramakatoi for decades, Kaieteur News was told that mail had stopped being delivered to Paramakatoi since last April. The lack of mail is compounded by the fact that numerous aircraft travel into Paramakatoi, on a regular basis, delivering supplies to the village located atop the mountain.“It would not take anything much,” said one of the Paramakatoi villagers, “to place some mail aboard the aircraft.” Additionally, the villager cited the fact that not much mail would come to their village.According to reports, since the mail has been stopped a monstrous pile of undelivered mail has apparently accumulated at the Guyana Post Office (GPO), weighing some 500 pounds. One of the missionaries, who was posted in Paramakatoi, said that when she last ventured into Georgetown, her first stop was at the GPO,Cheap Hurricanes Jerseys, where she sifted through the pile of undelivered mail to find her parcels.Apart from the simple inconvenience of not getting mail, the death of the postal service has had much more serious consequences for residents of the village. Reports state that an individual had applied to go to the University of Guyana (UG),Air Max Shoes For Sale, and had been accepted, but his acceptance letter never made it back to Paramakatoi, and he did not know of his acceptance.A Project Trust volunteer,Nike Huarache Shoes For Sale, Samuel Simms, who has been living in Paramakatoi,San Jose Sharks Gear, teaching in both the primary and secondary schools for approximately four months, said that the lack of mail service was sad.He noted that he had no way of reaching his family, or even to get the Project Trust newsletter,Air Max 98 Gundam For Sale, which gives updates on the various volunteers across the globe, what they are doing and how they are progressing with their work.“I miss my family terribly,” he said, and he added that the fact that he could not even send them a letter did not help him cope with his chronic homesickness. The residents of Paramakatoi, both Guyanese and foreign, have expressed the need for the postal service to be restored to their village, because without it their communication was totally cut off and they would have no way of knowing what was happening in the outside world.
