Police in the interior have arrested three men following the discovery of a 9mm pistol and one live round as well as a shotgun with five cartridges in their possession.The men were detained around 21:00 hours on Tuesday in the vicinity of Eye Lash Backdam,Andre Gomes Jersey, Northwest District.Police in a press release stated that police ranks on patrol stopped and searched three men who were on an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) and unearthed the weapons and ammunition.Kaieteur News understands that the policemen were returning to Port Kaituma with items seized from the shop of a Brazilian murder suspect who is presently on the run.The three men,Barcelona Jerseys, who are said to be miners,Juventus Jerseys, were on their way out of the backdam were resting after their ATV developed mechanical problems when the police stumbled on them.They are currently awaiting charges as they assist the police with their investigations.
