Bail was denied and the defendants are expected to make their next court appearance on February 16.Another rank had appeared a day before to answer the same charged.The policemen were placed under close arrest after they were allegedly nabbed attempting to collect bribe from Shepherd last week.Initial reports are that on Wednesday last, the ranks had arrested Shepherd in a section of Greater Georgetown with a quantity of marijuana in his possession.Kaieteur News was told that Shepherd had offered the policemen a sum of money in exchange for his freedom, but the ranks greedily demanded more money from Gavin Shepherd.Shepherd reportedly left to collect the money, but tipped off a police officer about the deal.When the TSU ranks attempted to collect the cash, they were confronted by some of their colleagues.
