The Chief Co-operative Development Officer was forced to take over the management of the Port Mourant United Cooperative Society Ltd.According to the Ministry,Cheap Jerseys League, it had found that persons have been acquiring lands assigned to the coops without the proper adherence to the rules and laws governing co-operatives.Nadir warned that his ministry will continue to call on co-ops to examine their books.Government will also be pressing for the prosecution of managers who cannot account for the assets of co-ops.The outreach to Region Six follows closely on the heels of a visit that the Minister made to Region Two early last week.The Minister reminded that all co-operative societies should send their annual returns to the Chief Cooperative Development Society by March 31.
