During decades in the rice business, Sankar produced and exported quality rice on a large scale to the Caribbean and the European markets. However, during the 1990’s Sankar’s business took a down turn and he struggled to keep afloat. He however managed to turn this situation around.Mayor Hamilton Green remembered his late friend and colleague as a true “patriot”. He said Sankar’s story is one that should be emulated by “the young” and encouraged them to follow in his footsteps.
