In a show of solidarity, representatives of several Trade Unions have set their differences aside. It is important that we have the One May Day Rally as we celebrate our Golden Jubilee and it is (also) important that workers be happy. In this economy, we have to make workers comfortable,” Clarke said.The Assistant Secretary of the Vice President of the GLGOU, Kimberley Porter, after registering her union’s support, made a call for all workers throughout the length and breadth of Guyana to come out on May 1 to show their support.General Secretary of the GLU and President of the FITUG organisation, Carvil Duncan, told the gathering that in “unity there is strength”.“…And too long, the workers of this country have been suffering as a result of this disunity.
