Courtesy of Enrico Woolford in New YorkWhile Shaheed Roger Khan has already entered a guilty plea in what is now a contentious case both in New York and Guyana, his former attorney Robert Simels is putting up a spirited defense. In court yesterday, the Prosecution called its last witness, the agent who was responsible for the investigation, John Mazella.Selwyn VaugnAttorney for Simels, Gerald Shargel took a line of questioning in cross examination to highlight that Simels was not so much the subject of an investigation as that of an entrapment plan, with the game plan being executed by the agent Mazella, the informant Selwyn Vaugn and the prosecutors. However,Nike Air Max 98 Gundam For Sale, Mazella’s testimony and most of the testimony for the day, the beginning of this second week of the trial, illustrated why Guyanese Roger Khan admitted guilt to the charges of obstruction of justice and witness tampering in this case.In a handwritten letter dated July 27, 2007 and entered into evidence yesterday, Khan admitted to a Guyanese individual known as Reagan Mark, of Willems Timber, that he has three laptops and that his attorney and associates, will come to Guyana to verify the equipment.Khan wrote that a person known as Mac should do a demo of the equipment. He then asked Reagan to help Simels and his associates to help find calls relating to the Muslim guy.“It’s under the targets name ‘Fulla’,Wholesale Stitched NFL Jerseys,” Khan wrote from jail.“I can’t remember Kadir’s name but it might just be ‘Kadir’,” Khan stated. The Guyanese man wrote from his jail cell before he confessed to the charges of obstructing justice and witness tampering that “Reagan should check out for the other Muslim Guy in Bel Air not far from Swiss,Wholesale Jerseys China,” (An apparent reference to the home of the late Farouk Razac).Shaheed Roger Khan then surprisingly asked the individual named as Reagan to “Please keep all of this confidential; do not tell anyone about this. He then signed Shaheed K.On the issue of the now controversial laptop purchase, from the court documents, the direct testimony and evidence suggest that Shaheed Roger Khan was preparing in 2007 to make another purchase of more intercept equipment from jail.According to a memo from an individual known as Al, to Robert Simels, Khan directed his people in Guyana to contact a guy named Rick, who had branched off from the Nancy Spy Shop. (That is the original shop from which Khan purchased the intercept equipment).According to the memo, Khan said that Rick would know where Carl is (the trainer Carl Chapman) but at the time Roger dealt with him, Carl was working for Smith Myers.“He would come and train people,” Roger Khan told Al,NFL Jerseys China, adding that Carl was living in London, England.Khan did not believe that the person from whom the original intercept equipment was purchased ( Nancy),Cheap China Jerseys, from the Spy Shop, was telling the truth about an apparent FBI investigation into the purchase. The US court documents clearly stated that the FBI claimed that the equipment was sold through the Spy Shop with authorisation from the Guyana authorities. The Guyanese authorities have continued to deny that the purchase had anything to do with them.Roger Khan, through the memo written by Al, made another starling disclosure that if the FBI were investigating then Roy would have been arrested as Roy was making the payments. The reference to Roy may be to a relative of Khan known as Uncle Roy who assists in running Khan’s businesses in Guyana and lives in Guyana but travels frequently between Guyana and Miami.According to the memo to Simels, Khan then reportedly made a deal to trade in the old equipment for new equipment, but the old Spy Shop owner wanted US$500,000 for the deal. Khan was willing to offer US$250,000. But the former seller would not budge.Meanwhile, the jury heard that Robert Simels was working for initially US$1.5M and billed Roger Khan’s brother Rafeek of Curryville Road in Florida for US$1.01M past due. He billed by the hour. The prosecution also called the FEDEX Operations Manager in New York, Manny Mancuso, who testified both in direct testimony and cross examination that his company shipped from Guyana to Simels’ New York office, items listed as documents, Panasonic Laptops,? Auto Data Recording Device, computer base power supply and a flash drive. One of the items, a flash drive, was valued at US$1000 in the American and Guyanese Customs documents. Some of the other shipments were done between Simels and two Georgetown-based Guyanese, the jury heard. The Court also heard from the Technical Officer at the jail where Khan is housed. He testified that Khan and Simels were r
