The staccato beat of African drumming greeted the ear from as far as two blocks away from St Margaret’s Primary School as teachers and students of the Grade Four Level of that institution celebrated Heritage Day activities.The teachers divided the students into six groups with each group depicting the cultural activities representative of their respective ethnicities. The children were also required to conduct research on the way of life of the respective ethnic groups and submit a report. This report also formed a part of the basis for the judging.Indeed, the enthusiasm displayed by the students was heartening and augurs well for the development of the country. Most of the tots felt that the exercise was worthwhile.
