For approximately 30 minutes yesterday morning,Stitched Jerseys, some buildings in the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) compound were without power.This happened after the GPHC was forced to disconnect the power supply to some of the hospital buildings following the sparking of some wires and the burning of some cables at the construction site of the new in-patient wards within the compound of the GPHC.A source within the GPHC told this newspaper that a loud explosion was heard just prior to the power being cut.A press release from the GPHC said that the GPHC was required to temporarily disconnect the power supply to some buildings in the compound to effect repairs to the damaged main circuit breaker and main supply service connection.Among the buildings affected by the temporary loss of power was the Surgical Block, which houses Wards A1,Cheap NFL Jerseys, A2, B1,Cheap NFL Jerseys China, B2,Wholesale China Jerseys, C1 and C2. Some of the other surrounding buildings were also affected by the temporary loss of power.As a precautionary measure,Cheap NFL Jerseys, the Guyana Fire Service (GFS) was summoned,Stitched NFL Jerseys, as were workers from the Guyana Power and Light (GPL) Company.Another source within the GPHC explained that the standby generators were not turned on because the wires feeding the building with electricity were also connected to wires from the generator.However, the loss of power did not affect the operations and internal networks of the GPHC.The release from the GPHC stated that, “Measures have been put in place to prevent a recurrence of such an incident.”
