We believe that after the legislative changes are enacted, then CARICOM can be approached to lend experience and expertise to assist in the transformation of the electoral process,” Simpson said.When questioned by the publication to specify their concerns and recommendations, Simpson said that they will be available in the organisation’s full report. However, he emphasised that any changes to electoral legislation must have “transparency and accountability”, with the support of all political stakeholders.Simpson explained that CARICOM’s concerns “come from the law that is currently in the books and GECOM has to follow those laws.
