(GPL) for its Bartica operations.It will also have to be assessed how quickly the project can supply electricity to the Bartica grid and the guaranteed firm capacity and availability of the system.The bidder’s experience in power generation using the proposed renewable energy technology or technologies will also have to be considered.“Following this evaluation, a shortlist of qualified firms will be formally engaged by the MPI and invited to submit full comprehensive proposals,” the Ministry explained.The ‘Green Bartica Plan’ is a Government of Guyana initiative that involves a holistic approach to sustainable economic growth in the soon-to-be township.Guyana is looking to move away from its current dependence on imported,Jerseys NFL China, fossil fuel for its energy needs.It is currently considering a number of hydro projects and is in negotiation with a firm for a wind farm at Hope Beach, East Coast Demerara.
